The Missing Ingredients Project

For the 10 year anniversary of Shop Small, AmEx wanted to do something big and buzzy that celebrated the occasion while also getting people’s feet in the doors of small businesses across America. So we created the #ShopSmallBigHug, an incredibly stupid social challenge in which people showed love by hugging their favorite small businesses — literally. 
Across social media, people hugged windows, hugged walls, hugged merch, and hugged (consenting) employees, all while driving a record increase in foot traffic on Small Business Saturday.

After a whirlwind 7 days of concepting, pitching Shatner, music mixing, shooting, editing, and animating, Auld Lang Shatner dropped just in time for the ball drop, and got Planet Fitness 25 million views within 24 hours, nearly doubling their TikTok follower count.

		<description>Macy’s Santa Project
For Macy’s, we discovered an upsetting trend: the average age at which kids start Googling is the exact average age kids stop believing in Santa. And if you Google “is Santa real” you’ll see why.
So we set out to change that. We asked people all across the internet — famous and not — to share videos and photos across social media, affirming their belief in Santa, so the next time kids Google Santa, they find something magical. 

This was a massive campaign that reached millions of people across social media, and even managed to (slightly) melt my cold, cynical heart.
